October 3 - Food Tasting
Buy a packaged food, prepare it according to the package directions and bring it in to share so we can all learn what’s in those boxes on the grocery shelves.
October 10 - Gentle Yoga with Kate Junker
Bring a mat or large towel and dress comfortably for Kate to lead us in gentle yoga positions for health and peace of mind. Kate has led this class for us in previous years and has also taught at the Chautauqua Institution.
October 17 - American Nationality Day
Members from the USA will talk about its industry, geography, culture and foods.
October 24 - International Social Customs
Small group discussions of phrases and gestures used in different countries that may be unique to our various cultures.
October 31 - Pumpkin Carving
Bring a small to medium size pumpkin to make into a jack-o-lantern for Halloween. Naomi will demonstrate.
From September to May, all Thursday meetings are held at the First Baptist Church, 159 Bellefield Ave, Pittsburgh from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Don’t forget that there is no meeting, when Pittsburgh Public Schools are closed or do have a delay (late start) due to bad weather condition! Early in the morning on the TV channel KDKA, on the radio or KDKA school delay you can get the information whether and what schools are closed.

September Meeting Programs
September 12, at 9:30-11:30 AM:
This will be your first chance to join IWAP for the 2013-2014 year. Meet old and new friends during the social hour, and then learn about the history of IWAP and some of the things we have planned for the coming year.

September 19th, at 9:30-11:30 AM:
This meeting will be "LIVING IN PITTSBURGH"- How to get around, where everything is and where and how to shop. It is the opportunity to ask all the questions you have thought about. We will have small groups so it will be easy to talk.
September 26th, at 9:30-11:30 AM:
This week we will watch a short video about Pittsburgh’s history from its Native American origin to the modern city we see today. We will learn about the immigrants who came before us and the impact they had.
