December Meeting Programs

December 5th - Gingerbread Houses
Carol P will help us make gingerbread houses, an American holiday tradition. Buy a Gingerbread House kit from a store like Rite-Aid, Aldi’s, CVS, Giant Eagle or Michaels or bring a box of graham crackers and a small sharp knife. Carol will supply a plate, candy decorations, and royal icing “glue” to stick it all together. Bring some newspaper to work on and a plastic bag to take your house home. You could continue the project at home - maybe make a whole village!

December 12th - Square Dancing
Square dancing was first documented in 17th century England and later throughout Europe. It came to the US with the settlers. Square dancing movements are based on steps and figures used in traditional folk dances and social dances. Dancers are prompted or cued through the steps by a caller to the beat of the music. David Vinski will call the steps for us.

December 19th - Christmas Party
This week will be our final meeting of 2013 and will be a holiday party with a gift exchange. The celebration will feature lots of food, music and even a visit from Santa Claus. Members will bring dishes to share for pot-luck.

December 26th - No IWAP Meeting

Happy Holidays!
